MECC Gambling Harms

14 October 2025

The North East has the highest prevalence of gambling harms risk in the UK. Gambling affects NOT just the individuals (those gambling) but their families, friends, work colleagues.

The aim of this session is to highlight the potentially harmful nature of gambling products and improve awareness and understanding of the impact of gambling harms, especially the consequences for health and wellbeing.

We aim to improve participant’s confidence to discuss gambling harms with potentially vulnerable clients, aid their understanding of the need for prevention and the impact treatment and support services can have to minimise harms, as well as raise awareness of available treatment, support tools and so improve signposting.

This is an online event, accessible from most devices.
