They have been so helpful, and the food parcel was excellent

Joining the Dots supported a lady with a breast cancer diagnosis, who was living in temporary accommodation with her children.

The temporary accommodation was out of her local area, where her family and support networks were. She was looking for some financial support as she was struggling with the cost of living. She was looking for information on grant applications and when we chatted about the kind of support she required, it was apparent that food shopping was one of the things she needed support with, this was causing a lot of stress for her, as the children were about to start a school holidays.

After discussing her support needs, we suggested support from a food bank, she agreed and we found a foodbank local to her, which she managed to access. The food bank also offered advice and information on financial management and budgeting, which the lady accessed.

The support from the foodbank was excellent, easy to access, she did not feel judged, and the food parcel had fresh food, toiletries and cupboard staples in.

“Thanks for your help and suggesting the foodbank for me, they have been so helpful, and the food parcel was excellent’.
